Working from home has been a growing trend in the past years. But now, since this pandemic, people have been forced to work from home, creating an increase in the need for dedicated work spaces and home offices.
In order to promote productivity, a well designed home office should be situated away from other living areas; provide good flow; lighting; and be comfortable with a large working space.
Here are 5 things to consider when designing your home office space:
Depending on our needs, a home office can be used for many hours each day if working from home, or just as a quite place to go thru correspondence and pay bills. Regardless, whether working from home is a temporary situation, or is now our ‘NEW NORMAL’, don’t we all deserve a home office that is both functional and beautiful??

Typically speaking our bedroom should be the most comfortable room in our homes. Nothing feels better than, at the end of a busy day, getting to relax in our comfortable, cozy bedroom.
Here are a few ideas to help make your bedroom a comfy, cozy oasis:
Create the perfect mood to rest and slumber by painting your walls in a dark colour.
Area rugs are a great way to introduce colour, texture, and warmth in your bedroom. Try layering multiple area rugs for added drama and warmth underfoot.
Layering neutral pillows and throws helps make your bed a place you want to snuggle into.
A headboard done up in warm natural wood or upholstered in a neutral fabric adds warmth and texture.
Chose soft lighting, or even better, use a dimmer to create the mood you want to achieve.
It seems like a small thing, but think about it, we spend a third of each day in our bedrooms.
So it’s definitely worth the time and effort to create the perfect oasis to start and end each day.

Since we have been told by the government and health care professionals to stay home as much as possible, in order to flatten the curve, we all have extra time to clean our furniture.
After all, while it is easy to be overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, and uncertainty , it’s important to remember :
OUR HOMES ARE ONE THING WE HAVE CONTROL OVER
Have a plan, remember you don’t have to clean all your furniture in one day. Consider taking on one room per day. This will give you the confidence that this is something you can take on during this period of chaos; and in doing so you’ll have clean furniture.
Here are some cleaning tips:
Wood furniture
Fabric
On upholstery furniture, remove seat and back cushions and vacuum regularly to remove dust particles.
Vacuum upholstered headboards as well.
Leather
Use a slightly dampened soft cloth or leather cleaner.
Use a leather conditioner every three months to keep leather supple and prevent it from drying out.
Glass
Use mild detergent and water followed by a glass cleaner with a micro fiber cloth.
Get ready to rid your home of dust with a HEALTHY spring cleaning!

Before you buy furniture you always have make sure it’s going to fit your space, and that you’ll be able to get it through the house. For example, if you are buying a sofa for your living room, make sure to measure your front door of the house so you can determine if the sofa will fit through the door. You also should measure the space between any walls and hallways you’ll be passing through, before going to your living room, so you won’t have any unexpected problems. Lastly, measure the room you’re furnishing from wall to wall so you can get an accurate estimation of what you can put where. For Example, in a family or living room, the TV and sofa need to be a calculated distance apart in order to get the maximum quality of use. If you measure you’re space before hand, you will know what size sofa to get, how big of a TV the room can handle and how you want to everything to be placed.
